A Christian life with God
The New Testament is a powerful source; there you will find answers to every situation in life. It is also good to have a Study Bible where you can find guidance. If you have a good Internet connection, then you can download a lot of study materials from different websites.
We all need to have a Christian community or a local church, where we can meet with other Christians. Becoming a member of a church, gives also spiritual protection. But it is important to choose a church which is in line with the Word of God. If you are not sure where to go or what church is right or good, find some friends in whom you can trust and ask them to help you.
As Christians, we are all responsible how we live our life. We have to find out what is good or bad compared to the Word of God. It is important you are aware of that there are some church folks who do not live like what the Word of God says. In fact, there are a big number of churches today that are not even lukewarm. They practice all kind of ideas and entertainments but they do not live as what the Word of God says.
Christianity is not a religion, no; it is a close relationship with God! That means; as God has given us instructions, and even examples on how to live a Christian life as Jesus did, why do we not find such life in many churches today? The answer could be; they have lost their first love to Christ Jesus, or maybe they never lived like that!
A good church is where the Word of God is preached without limits. Where the Holy Spirit of God is invited, and the gifts of the Holy Spirit are operating. And one more thing; where peoples in the church can feel being loved by God and the members of the church. If you don't feel at home in a church or Christian community, find another one, please.
You can enjoy all the benefits there are for you as a Christian, even if you have a church membership or not. When you read the Word of God, you have fellowship with the Lord Jesus Christ, because the Word of God and Jesus Christ are one! You can find this in the gospel of John 1: 1-3.
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that were made.
With other words, Jesus and the Word of God are one! Just relax and have a good time together with the Lord Jesus Christ when you read the Bible.
The Holy Spirit of God
There is something very powerful, it is the Holy Spirit. It says in Acts, 1: 8. But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you;
This is called the baptism in the Holy Spirit. After you got the baptism in the Holy Spirit, a totally new dimension opens up in your spiritual life. Before you worshipped and prayed to God "up there", now you start living in a closer relationship with God. Now when you pray in the new tongs, the prayer language you got, it goes right up to father God.
This is a precious gift and resource we have. Think about this; The Holy Spirit, who is God, one of the three in divinity, He gives you the information on what to pray to God the Father in Heaven, you speak words and contents you never could have find out your self! You pray and edify your spiritual life in a way no human could have done without the help of the Holy Spirit!
The prayer language is the key to the supernatural. Praying in tongs edifies you, it open up situations in your life you never could dream about. Using this prayer life on daily basis, you will grow more and more in your spiritual life with God.
Remember, the Holy Spirit is a person, He is God manifested here on earth. Treat Him as His Name says; He is Holy! Be careful, He is the one you don't touch or blame for anything. The Word of God says in Mathew 12: 31-32
Therefore I say to you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven men. Anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man, it will be forgiven him; but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit, it will not be forgiven him, either in this age or in the age to come.
You can have a wonderful fellowship with the Holy Spirit. Love Him, give Him thanks for all He is doing for you. Let Him use you for God's glory, but never ever say something bad to Him or blame Him for anything, please remember this, He is HOLY!
Prayer and Worship
When we pray we should always pray to Father God in Jesus Name, this is written in John 16: 23-27
"And in that day you will ask Me nothing. Most assuredly, I say to you, whatever you ask the Father in My name He will give you. Until now you have asked nothing in My name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full.
"These things I have spoken to you in figurative language; but the time is coming when I will no longer speak to you in figurative language, but I will tell you plainly about the Father. In that day you will ask in My name, and I do not say to you that I shall pray the Father for you; for the Father Himself loves you, because you have loved Me, and have believed that I came forth from God.
It doesn't say in the bible that we should pray to Jesus, it only says we have to ask in His Name, meaning Jesus Name. This means, asking the Father in Jesus Name. John 14: 12
"Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father. And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything in My name, I will do it.
We can worship and give praise to the Lord Jesus and also to father God, as much as we want. It doesn't say we have to worship the Holy Spirit, but we can give thanks for all He is doing, in fact He is the one who is watching all that is going on here on earth. Father God, His Son the Lord Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit, they are all working together.
A good lifestyle as a Christian is to make bible reading, together with worship and prayer, a normal lifestyle in our daily walk with God. Let's make Him enjoy our fellowship every day!
